congee bowery
went to congee bowery on bowery and rivington with my cousin jae. apparently andrew zimmern from that show bizarre foods ate there. i did see some strange things on the menu but not as bizarre as what i saw when i went to beijing. but considering a lot of non-chinese people were there i guess it was pretty out there for the average patron. but most of them seemed as if they were just ordering normal chinese food like sesame chicken, beef and brocolli. i didn’t see anyone ordering shark’s fin soup, bird’s nest soup or chickens served with the head still attached, which are on the menu. :P we got the pig’s stomach with x.o. sauce, crab congee, and minced pork with salted fish. it was pretty good. tasted like chicken. hahah.

it’s like 6:30am. i can’t sleep.
about six months ago before i got this domain name jay-ju.com, i had looked up the actual person who owned jayju.com. i had known for a couple years that it was taken. and even though my name isn’t that common, i would’ve understood if someone else with the same name had taken it. but when i saw the owner’s name… bala thirugnanam, i was baffled. why would he want this domain name? who the hell besides me would want jay ju dot com? i tried to write him to ask if he would be willing to part with it in any way. i even asked him if he would sell it to me. but of course i didn’t hear back so i just got this one i’m using now, with the “hyphen” between.
but i finally got a response from the person yesterday! unfortunately, he’s not willing to part with it and he just told me that it’s a family nickname. :/ i guess jayju must mean something in another language? oh well, i’m just glad he wrote me back and i got to find out what the deal was. plus, it could’ve been worse, someone could have made jayju.com into some bizarre fetish porn site. :P

i decided to find place to put all my ramblings, art and other crap that have been collecting dust. also, so you can see what i’m up to, cause you wanna know, but you’re too damn lazy to call me. jeez. :P and i’ve just made it easier to be stalked! yay? seriously, this is for my friends, family, new people i meet and just whomever has ever seen or heard of me or my stuff.
